Massey’s Landing – My Kind of Camping!

Massey’s Landing – My Kind of Camping!

We had the opportunity this past Memorial Day weekend to visit Massey’s Landing in Long Neck, DE. Now this is what I call camping! Massey’s Landing is not your typical campground, at least none that I have visited. Massey’s is a true resort destination. From the pool, which was heated to a relaxing 85 degrees, to the private beach, the café and the tiki bar, there is really nothing lacking. This resort was a great family destination. Our kids enjoyed the playground, swimming, beach and the atmosphere in general.

At first arrival I was a little nervous about the vibe. With the tiki bar on property, the pool bar and the close camping quarters I thought I might be in for a rowdy crowd but I was pleasantly surprised that it was not the case. Massey’s still possessed the same family friendly vibe that we are used to but also felt like a nice retreat for couples (if we are lucky enough to come back without the kiddos).

Another huge amenity was the shuttle bus. I was actually surprised that more people did not take advantage of this feature. The van (or bus, depending on demand) takes you from the campground to Rehoboth Beach and makes stops at the outlets and sometimes the movies. This was a nice feature as we didn’t have to fight to find parking and be blocks away carrying our stuff. The shuttle dropped you off about two blocks from the beach and would run every two hours.

Overall, we enjoyed Massey’s Landing tremendously! The amenities are reflected in the price and this was not a cheap camping trip. This is a great vacation spot when you are ready and willing to splurge a bit. This campground is ideal for those that are active (#notus) with the paddle boarding and kayaking and for those that are into the beach bum life (#yepthatsus) with the beach and the pool. You have all you need on site and it is kid, couple and pet friendly. Our kids still talk about going to Massey’s Landing and I think we’ve set the bar pretty high for this camping season. I am sure they will be disappointed from here on out as every other campground will fall short of what Massey’s has to offer.
